Based on the movie of 1939 of George Cukor and on the stage play of Clare Boothe Luce of 1936, this movie presents to us a joint attraction of the society of Manhattan dominated by the publishing world, of the fashion and the finance.
Everything on the women is a comedy on the today women's status and the force of the relations between women.

The movie is produced by the prestigious musician Mick Jagger and the cinematographic début of Diane English in the direction.

The history turns concerning the personage of Mary Haines (Meg Ryan), a modern woman who suddenly is before an old problem: a husband who cheats it with a sensual seller of perfumes (Eva Mendes). His friends headed by Sylvie Fowler (Annete Bening), Edie Cohen (Debra Messing) and Alex Fisher (Jada Pinkett Smith) quickly come in his help.
But when Sylvie betrays Mary, the group staggers and these two women suffer the most painful rupture of all his friendship.
